LEAD AFRICA DIABETES TRAINING

    KCOA in collaboration with Novo Nordisk bring you a FREE online-based Diabetes Learning Program.

    The objective of LEAD Africa is to train and empower healthcare professionals to deliver optimal diabetes care in sub – Saharan Africa.

    The specific objectives of the training are to:

    • Increase disease awareness; promote early screening, diagnosis and treatment.
    • Enhance skills in relation to timely initiation and intensification of insulin therapy.
    • Improve early identification and management of diabetes complications/ co-morbidities.

    Overview

    The LEAD Africa training is modular e-learning for clinical officers. It comprises of Short Courses. The modules and short courses are in English and French versions.

    Short Courses 

    The short courses are for the allied healthcare professionals - clinical officers. There are seven (7) short courses. To complete each Short Course, the learner must complete the self-paced e-learning module.

    Knowledge assessment 

    Knowledge is assessed with a pre-test and post-test for each Short Course.

    Certification 

    To receive the certificate of completion, the learner will have to complete all seven (7) short courses. There will be a RoundTable (webinar) towards the end of the program. A video will also be accessible on the portal for Clinical Officers.

    Timeline for the completion of modules 

    The deadline for the completion of all modules is 31st December 2021. After this date, learners will no longer have access to the modules.

    CPD Points

    On completion of the course, learners will be awarded 10 CPD points.
